As 2020 comes to an end and we prepare for the new year ahead, we want to take a moment to look back on our accomplishments this past year. We received more submissions in 2020 (over 1050 so far!) than in any other year. And despite the spike in submissions, we maintained a time to first decision of under 30 days.
We would also like to take a moment to acknowledge the fine work and dedication of two members of the IUJ team who will rotate off the team at the end of the year. Kim van Delft has done a phenomenal job over the past few years as the journal’s first Fellows Editor. In this role, she has worked with Steven Swift to manage Image and Video articles for the journal. Kim will be joining the editorial board. We thank Kim for her contributions and are eager to welcome a new Fellow’s Editor in the new year.
Steve and I would also like to thank Diaa Rizk for his many years of service to the IUJ. Throughout the course of his editorship, Dr. Rizk has managed almost 1100 submissions! His enthusiasm and energy have been invaluable, and his expertise has shaped the science included in the journal for many years. If you see Kim or Diaa, please thank them for their service to the journal!
