Lifetime Achievement Award
Just as IUGA itself, our leaders, both past and present are dedicated to improving the lives of women suffering from pelvic floor disorders. Knowing that the different situations around the world create unique challenges, in 2013 the leaders of IUGA set up our Foundation, FIUGA, the Foundation for International Urogynecological Assistance. FIUGA has set up projects in Ghana and Nepal and is working to develop a new project in Tanzania, to serve women that may otherwise not get the care they deserve.

“The purpose of the Association is the dissemination of research and practical clinical developments to the investigator and clinical in a forum conducive to a free exchange of ideas for the benefit of all. The Association’s goals continue to be met in its annual meetings and quarterly newsletters featuring reviews of current medical literature pertinent to the field. The establishment of the International Urogynecological Journal and its acceptance as the official journal of the Association will further enhance the realization of the Association’s goals.” Donald Ostergard, MD.
