New Pelvic Floor Consortium

The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) is establishing a Pelvic Floor Consortium (PFC) for the purpose of providing a collaborative forum of representatives of disciplines involved in the management of people with diseases of the pelvic floor. People with an interest in the management of diseases of the pelvic floor are welcome and invited to attend the Pelvic Floor Consortium’s inaugural meeting, Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee, during the ASCRS Annual Scientific Meeting.

The Consortium’s objectives include:

  • Providing a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas to develop a cohesive, interdisciplinary strategy for treatment of people with pelvic floor diseases.
  • Facilitating an exchange of ideas to set standards/guidelines that reflect the surgical and non-surgical management of diseases comprising all compartments of the pelvic floor.
  • Promoting collaborative research projects and mechanisms for funding some of the standards/guidelines.
