This paper has been published in the latest issue of the International Urogynecology Journal (IUJ), offering valuable guidance on the evaluation and management of obstructed defecation in women with anterior rectocele, recto-enterocele and rectal intussusception.
The working group members, comprising Suneetha Rachaneni, Hans Peter Dietz, Pallavi Latthe, Annie Sirany, Anna Spivak and Anupreet Dua, developed this Opinion Paper following the review and grading of available evidence, which informed the resulting consensus recommendations. A working sub-committee of the IUGA Innovation, Research & Development Committee, in collaboration with colorectal surgeons from the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons, drafted the document, after which the full Committee reviewed and refined its content.
