Tell us about where you currently live (city/country) and how you ended up in this location.

I live in San Antonio, TX, USA. I grew up in Texas and after spending 15 amazing years in Chicago, my husband and I found an opportunity to come back to Texas to be closer to family.

Tell us about your work - your job title, where you work, how long you've worked in the field, areas of focus or research, etc.

I have been practicing the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) since graduating fellowship in 2006. I currently work in the Urology Department at UT Health - San Antonio. My title is: Associate Professor, Department of Urology, Ob/Gyn and Department of Medical Education I have a strong interest in Medical Education My roles currently include: Fellowship Program Director, FPMRS Co Module Director, Medicine, Behavior and Society, Long School of Medicine Executive Director, Academy of Educational Scholars, Long School of Medicine

When and why did you decide to join IUGA?

I joined IUGA as a fellow in Chicago and have "grown up" in IUGA. At the time they had a fellows committee and I really wanted to get involved. Since joining, I have enjoyed and benefited tremendously from the IUGA family.

What has been your most rewarding or memorable IUGA experience?

So many, it is hard to choose. From the relationships that have been formed, to all of the amazing places I have been able to travel and see, truly all memorable. I looked back at all of the meetings and have been coming to IUGA meetings since 2004! One that stands out in particular is the Taiwan meeting in 2008 that was affected by the monsoon. It ended up being memorable for me personally as I met some of my really good friends that year. IUGA has really been part of my identify formation as a urogynecolgist and I am very thankful to be able to participate and contribute.

What is the last book you read or movie you saw? Would you recommend it?

We just saw the Bourne Trilogy with our two sons. After a decade, they are still very captivating! The last book I read was A Silent Patient- a psychological thriller that kept me guessing until the end.

What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with family, Traveling, Reading, Baking with my boys and we just got a ping pong table!

What is one "fun fact" about you?

My Dad is an identical twin. He is a urologist and his brother is a gynecologist! Urogynecology was in my future all along :)
