The IUGA Sexuality and Pelvic Floor Disorders Special Interest Group (SIG) aims to provide a dedicated, multidisciplinary forum for collecting and disseminating knowledge, advancing research, and improving clinical care at the intersection of female sexual health and pelvic floor disorders (PFDs). Specifically, the SIG aims to: (1) collect and share clinical and research information on sexual function and dysfunction in women with pelvic floor disorders, including the impact of surgical and non-surgical treatments; (2) promote standardized sexual health assessment, terminology, and outcome reporting in urogynecological practice and research; (3) support multidisciplinary collaboration and educational initiatives; and (4) advise the IUGA Board on matters related to female sexual health and pelvic floor disorders.

The Sexuality and Pelvic Floor Disorders SIG will bring together urogynecologists, gynecologists, urologists, pelvic floor physiotherapists, psychologists, sex therapists, and researchers with a shared interest in female sexual health. The SIG will encourage knowledge exchange, collaborative research, and mentorship opportunities for trainees and early-career professionals. Its focus areas include sexual function following pelvic floor treatments, sexual pain disorders, trauma-informed care, female genital cosmetic surgery, and multidisciplinary care pathways. The SIG also aims to organize educational webinars, scientific sessions, and collaborative activities with allied professional societies to advance understanding and improve patient care.
