Join the Writing Group for a New IUGA Guideline on Vaginal Pessaries

Vaginal pessaries are widely used as a conservative treatment option for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and urinary incontinence (UI). However, clinical practice and training vary internationally, and there is currently a need for standardised definitions, core competencies, and consistent guidance for pessary fitting and management.

The IUGA Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (SIG) is launching a new project to develop An International Urogynecology Association (IUGA) Standardised Guideline on Training Standards and the Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Urinary Incontinence Using Vaginal Pessaries.

The project aims to develop an evidence-based international guideline for the management of POP and UI using vaginal pessaries. It will also establish training standards for healthcare professionals involved in pessary management and define competency requirements for pessary fitting and management.

We are now seeking IUGA members to join the writing group for this project. Members with relevant clinical and/or research expertise in the surgical or conservative management of POP and UI are encouraged to participate.
