September is Interstitial Cystitis and Bladder Pain Awareness Month!

Awareness Months Web September 3

September is Interstitial Cystitis and Bladder Pain Awareness Month, an opportunity to increase understanding of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) and its impact on those living with the condition.

IC/BPS is a chronic condition associated with pain, pressure, or discomfort in the bladder and pelvic region, often accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency. Symptoms can vary considerably from person to person and may change over time. For some, they can have a significant impact on everyday activities, sleep, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Greater awareness can help people recognize symptoms, seek appropriate care, and better understand the experiences of those living with IC/BPS.

Throughout September, the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) is also raising awareness of IC/BPS and sharing resources to help individuals and organizations get involved.
