IUGA's most recent eXchange program was held November 1-2, 2019 in the Harma Hotel at Maltepe University, Istanbul, Turkey. The program’s aim was to promote international exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences regarding incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and reconstructive surgery. There were 203 participants in total, including 40 speakers and moderators, 71 residents, physiotherapists and nurses, and 92 physicians. Of those 206, 196 were local to Turkey, 3 from Russia, 3 from the Republic of Azerbaijan and 1 from Saudi Arabia.
The organizing committee chair, Professor Ismail Mete, and co-chair, Dr. Ozgur Yeneil, orchestrated an engaging curriculum with interactive lectures and theoretical sessions, nurse and physiotherapy workshops, and live surgeries. Ultimately, the members of TUPRA (Turkish Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Association) were motivated and inspired to follow and engage in future IUGA programs.
