Short Report of the Program "UROGYNAECON JULY 2022"
Venue: Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Koppal, Karnataka.

We Thank IUGA for Endorsing the Program "UROGYNAECON JULY 2022"

"UROGYNAECON JULY 2022" was held for 2 days on 8th & 9th of July 2022 at Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Koppal, Karnataka. The program was jointly organised by Karnataka State Obstetrics and Gynaecology Association (KSOGA) and KIMS Koppal. Live Operative Workshop was telecasted Online through ZOOM link. Provision was also made in the Auditorium to watch Live surgery with the capacity of 60 members.

The Program was Fruitful & Successful:
On 08.07.2022 we started with Hands on Training at 9AM IST. Myself Dr Chandrashekar Murthy Y M and Dr Kiran A, demonstrated & gave Hands on Training for 25 gynaecologists.
Total cases demonstrated were 7 of which 3 cases were stage 3 Pelvic organ prolapse- for which Vaginal Hysterectomy with Sacrospinous fixation was done, other 3 cases were Heavy Menstrual Bleeding without uterine Descent for which Non-Descent Vaginal Hysterectomy was done. At the end I Dr Chandrashekar Murthy Y M & Dr Kiran A performed Burch Colposuspension for a case of Stress Urinary Incontinence which was also shown as a trial run for the next day.

On 09.07. 2022 the program was started with Guest Lecture on "Overview of Pelvic organ prolapse" by Dr N Rajamaheswari Madam, President URPSSI, at 9AM IST, the session was chaired by Dr Kasturi V Donimath, followed by surgery. After surgery there was one more Lecture by Dr Seethalakshmi V Professor at IOG, Madras Medical College, Chennai, on "Management of Vault Prolapse", Session was chaired by Dr. KIran A & Dr. Amita Jain which was later followed by three more surgeries.

4 Surgeries were performed and demonstrated by myself Dr Chandrashekar Murthy Y M
1. Stage 3 pelvic organ prolapse for which Vaginal Hysterectomy with Anterior Colporrhaphy, Posterior Colpoperineorrhaphy with sacrospinous fixation was done
2. Stage 3 Vault Prolapse for which Vault Repair with Sacrospinous fixation was done
3. Third Degree Complete perineal tear Repair
4. Stage 3 Pelvic organ Prolapse with P1LI and the patient was desirous to preserve the Uterus to conceive again , so Abdominal Sacrohysteropexy was done
Chairpersons for 4 surgeries were Dr Amita Jain, Dr Mohanchandra Regmi, Dr Kiran A, Dr uma Devi Swain, Dr Gyanendra Karki (Prof & HOD, Biratnagar Medical College, Nepal)
All the patients withstood the procedure well and are in stable condition.
The program was Inagurated by Dr. U S Hangarga Ex. Dean & Director of KIMS Hubli, Dr Basavaraj Sajjan, Ex. District Health Officer & Dr B H Narayani Prof & HOD Dept. of OBG, KIMS, Koppal.
The program ended on time on both the days. All the specialists showed great enthusiasm & participated actively. All the specialists appreciated the surgical skills & the Demonstration by the surgeon and also appreciated the active interaction by the chairpersons. Doctors also thanked Dr B H Narayani & Dr Basavaraj Sajjan for the arrangements & Hospitality. Doctors who attended the Hands on Training thanked me ( Dr Chandrashekar Murthy Y M) & Dr Kiran A for patient teaching and for instilling confidence in them for performing surgery independently in future.

Once again we thank IUGA for the Endorsement & we look forward for your association & co-operation in future to spread the knowledge of Urogynaecology in remote parts of India.
