2023 IUGA 48th Annual Meeting - Call For Proposals

The IUGA is now requesting intents-to-bid for the IUGA Annual Meeting in 2023 which will take place in Europe. Intents-to-bid are to be submitted by active IUGA members and should not come from event/conference management companies or venues. Intents-to-bid will be reviewed by IUGA’s site selection committee. The committee will assess and select locations/sites who will be contacted and only those selected bids will be requested to submit a full bid. The IUGA office will assist in preparation of the full bids. Intents-to-bid should be brief and should contain the following information:

  • Introductory letter of intent-to-bid including motivation;
  • Brief information on the host city and country (local infrastructure, accessibility, etc.);
  • At least 2 potential conference venues;
  • List of the local organization team: names, roles and any meeting planning experiences;
  • Budget indications for local expenses, e.g. avg. costs of 3*/4*/5* hotel rooms, cost of transportation, cost of living (food & drinks);
  • Brief information on local/national support for this meeting through local/regional (affiliated) societies, organizations, sponsors, stakeholders, related organizations, etc.
  • Any other information that you feel may add value to reviewing the intent-to-bid.

Timelines intents-to-bid

  • Announcement intents-to-bid to membership: April 10, 2019
  • Call period for intents-to-bid: April 10, 2019 – May 25, 2019
  • Deadline submission intents-to-bid: May 25, 2019
  • Review period IUGA Annual Meeting Site Selection Committee: May 25, 2019 – June 15, 2019

Reviewing/assessing the intents-to-bid will be done by the IUGA Annual Meeting Site Selection Committee in coordination with the IUGA Office.

Timelines full bids

Intents-to-bid that have been selected by the IUGA Annual Meeting Site Selection Committee will be asked to submit a full bid. The IUGA Office will assist in developing the bid.

  • Preparation of full bid/proposals: June 15, 2019 – September 1, 2019
  • Deadline submission “Full Bid”: September 1, 2019
  • December 31, 2019: final decision of IUGA Annual Meeting Site Selection Committee

Mentees recognize Ranee Thakar and Lisa Prodigalided with Honored Mentor Award

FIUGA is proud to highlight the vital role mentorship plays in shaping the future of urogynecology. On June 20, 2025 at the IUGA/EUGA Joint Meeting in Barcelona Ranee Thakar and Lisa Prodigalided, were honored by their mentees with the prestigious FIUGA Honored Mentor Award.

Rooted deeply in the principle of mentorship, FIUGA offers the Honor Your Mentor program. This initiative provides IUGA members with the opportunity to formally recognize the mentors who have significantly influenced their professional journeys. Beyond personal gratitude, this program supports FIUGA’s mission to nurture leadership and excellence within the urogynecological community.

Ranee Thakar was nominated by her mentees Vasanth Andrews, Madhu Naidu, Adanna Okeahialam, Ivilina Pandeva, Annika Taithongchai, and Isabelle Van Gruting, in recognition of her unwavering support and mentorship.
Lisa Prodigalidad was nominated by Joanne Karen Aguinaldo, Almira Amin-Ong, Mary Rani Cadiz, Maria Margarita Florentino, Lilibeth Lim Navarro, Ryan Joseph Lirazan, Maria Margarita Franchesca Lojo, Ira Dominique Malonzo, Jean Aileen Manalastas, Geogrey Que, Rowena Sumilang, and May Anne Tabaquero for her consistent encouragement, guidance, and positive influence.
