IUGA Holds First Virtual Regional Symposium

IUGA held its first virtual IUGA Regional Symposium on August 26-27, 2021. This event was planned and executed in collaboration with the Thai Urogynecologist Society (TUGS). The IUGA Education Committee and the Local Organizing Committee worked seamlessly together to create a well-rounded and engaging program.

By all accounts, this first virtual Regional Symposium was a great success! More than 250 practitioners representing 45 countries attended this 2-day event focused on pelvic floor disorders. Attendees included physicians, surgeons, physiotherapists, and fellows with specialties in obstetrics, gynecology, and urogynecology.

In addition to speakers from Thailand and South-East Asia, the program included six international speakers: Jorge Milhem Haddad (Brazil), Jennifer King (Australia), S. Abbas Shobeiri (USA), Paul Moran (UK), Shilpa Iyer (USA), and Cristiane Carboni (Brazil). All sessions consisted of pre-recorded presentations from the faculty members followed by a live and interactive Q&A discussion.

We wish to express our gratitude to the following companies and individuals who supported the meeting:
