The Future of Basic Science: A Live Discussion on the Development of the Next Generation of Researchers

On September 16, you are invited to participate in the IUGA Basic Science SIG consensus conference to identify ways that we can support the development of the next generation of basic science researchers within the field of female pelvic medicine. During this half-day program, we will brainstorm and explore ways to ensure that future generations of scientists and clinician-scientists have the knowledge to apply state-of-the-art modern experimental tools to the mechanistic studies in the field. Through expert lectures, breakout sessions, and group discussions, we will identify gaps in knowledge and training and use this information to support the creation of sustainable educational programs and mentorships for trainees and junior faculty. The integration of basic science knowledge and clinical findings will lead to novel strategies for treatment of pelvic floor and lower urinary tract dysfunction, ultimately improving lives of urogynecology patients worldwide.

On-demand access to IUGA SIG Sessions is a benefit of IUGA membership. Please visit the Video Library and log in with your IUGA credentials to watch this recording. Not a member? Join today!
