This second and linked theme master class in mesh surgery was held in ASSERTs surgical skills lab utilizing six fresh frozen female cadavers over 2 days.
17 Irish and international delegates plus faculty attended a tremendously informative, technically innovative and skill sharing simulated surgical interactive educational experience.
The expert planning from course organizers and technical support staff generated complex challenging surgical pathology and complicated anatomy stimulating adaptive and novel approaches to retaining and or restoring Uro-Gynae integrity. Guest faculty were able to demonstrate the usefulness of ultrasound imaging.
Each cadaver had a specific complication (or several) ensuring that each delegate had an opportunity to dissect and be involved in-group discussion.
The second day comprised of lectures and case reviews and an interactive courtroom scenario encompassing contemporary and topical issues surrounding Vaginal mesh surgery.
