Please join the first session of our SIG Inspirational Talk series for 2023. Who better to kick start our meetings in the new year than our most honoured guest, a true premier league world-class expert, Professor Linda Brubaker. Prof Brubaker promises to advise and entertain us on the latest theories and research on microbiome, the possible mechanism of bacterial translocation, the link of bacterial cystitis with bladder pain syndrome and a lot more!
This one-hour session will be presented in a truly interview style conversation, conducted by our enthusiastic Steering Group members Tatiana and Kazibe. They will be the co-hosts of our interactive meeting. There will be a 20-minute Questions and Answers session for audience participation. So, please prepare your own burning questions that you have always wanted to ask - this will be your golden opportunity!
Dr Keng Ng is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in London, United Kingdom. He was awarded the Clifford Morson Medal at The Institute of Urology London for his thesis work on urodynamics and bladder dysfunction. His specialty interests include interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome and female urinary incontinence surgery.
He was elected Chair of SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain in January 2022.

Linda Brubaker, MD, MS is a board-certified FPMRS specialist at the University of California San Diego. She is a prolific researcher with well over 350 publications and multiple NIH awards, including serving as the Consortium Chair and a PI for the NIDDK Prevention of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (PLUS) Research Consortium. Her current research focus is the human urobiome, recurrent UTI and bladder health. She is an Associate Editor for JAMA and the Editor in Chief for the Journal of Urogynecology (formerly called FPMRS). Dr. Brubaker has an illustrious academic profile, including service as the Dean of the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine for nearly 6 years and the Interim Department Chair for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UC San Diego. Dr. Brubaker has received multiple awards which include the Lifetime Achievement Award (American Urogynecologic Society), induction into AOA (2013), Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, the 2007 APGO Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2003 Rush Medical College Distinguished Alumnus Award and the various Faculty Teaching Awards. She has served as the president (and program chairs) of both the American Urogynecologic Society as well as the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons as well as the Division Director for the FPMRS division of ABOG. At UC San Diego, Dr. Brubaker is currently serving as the Interim Director of Physician Wellness.

Dr Kazibe Koyuncu is PhD candidate in Urogynecology Doctorate Programme in Ankara University, Turkey. She is interested in working interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome and female sexual dysfunction. She is a member of SIG in Neuro-urogynecology and Urogenital Pain.
