Tell us about your work—your job title, where you work, years of experience, areas of focus or research, and what inspired you to pursue your career.

I am currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Florida- Jacksonville. I also hold an Adjunct Professor position at Carle Illinois College of Medicine. I have been in practice for ten plus years. My pursuit of medicine was first fostered late in my undergraduate studies. Prior to this I strongly pursued pharmaceutical research. I later realized however that I desired more of a human touch. I wanted a way to bring medicine to the bedside and being a physician seemed the perfect route. The journey has one of great fulfillment. In my current role my focus is training residents and medical students. I have a clinical interest in OAB, rUTI and Bladder Pain Syndrome.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received during your career?

The best career advice that I have received is that "the most meaningful growth comes in spaces and times of discomfort." Therefore, in order to grow one has to be accepting and comfortable with failures and setbacks.

What motivated you to join IUGA, and what does being a member mean to you?

I was motivated to join IUGA because I felt that a global understanding of the field of Urogynecology held great value. The unique perspectives from many corners of the world placed IUGA at the top of my, "must join, ' clinically impactful organizations.

What has been your most rewarding or memorable IUGA experience?

I cannot think of one experience. But I can say that whenever I attend an annual meeting, I feel a sense of unity, comradery, strength and renewed passion to serve.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work? How do you unwind or de-stress after a long day?

My hobbies and activities outside of work includes reading, cycling, traveling, cooking, gardening, going to the beach and going on nature walks.

What’s a "fun or surprising fact" about you that most people don’t know?

People are always surprised to know that I listen to K-pop music and love watching K-drama series.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or music genre that you’d recommend?

I am currently focused on books related to blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy. I believe these key components will be impactful in shaping society in the years to come.
