Stay Cyber-Secure with IUGA's Help

Cybersafe with IUGA

Scammers are always one step ahead, coming up with new tactics to deceive and exploit. Don’t fall victim to their schemes – learn to recognize and avoid scams with IUGA's help!

Watch Out for IUGA Membership Scams:

Beware of unexpected calls, texts, or emails claiming you owe a hefty membership fee or that there's an issue with your account. These scammers will try to trick you into sharing payment or bank details to "reactivate" your membership.

Remember, IUGA will never ask for payment information over the phone or through text messages. We exclusively communicate through email at This email address is being protected from spambots. Your reactivation links will always be a Status Plus link.

Stay Vigilant Against Account Suspension/Deletion Scams:

Scammers may send alarming texts, emails, or calls threatening to suspend or delete your account. They'll urge you to click on a suspicious link or provide personal information to “verify” your account. Don’t fall into their trap!

IUGA will never ask you to reveal your password or sensitive data over the phone or on any other website except one owned by us or our partner, Status Plus (www.statusplus.net and www.statusplus.com). Always verify the source before sharing any information. Also, our Board Members or IIUGA Staff will never contact you unexpectedly, especially to ask for money. Here are some important tips to identify scams and keep your account and information safe:

  1. Avoid Sharing Personal Information: Reputable organizations typically won't ask for sensitive data via email, text, or phone. Avoid sharing passwords, credit card or bank account details, passport or social security numbers, birthdate, or home address through these channels.
  2. Stick to IUGA-Owned Channels: Use our official emails This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for any customer service or support related to IUGA products/services, or if you want to make changes to your membership.
  3. Be Cautious of False Urgency or Threats: Scammers create a sense of urgency or use threatening language to trick you into acting impulsively. Stay calm and verify the information independently.
  4. Never Make Payments Over the Phone: IUGA will never request payment information, verification cards, or sensitive personal information via phone calls. Be cautious of anyone asking for this.
  5. Verify the Sender: Double-check the sender's email address or contact details. Phishers often use email addresses that look almost like the real ones but have small differences. Our official email addresses will always end with either @iuga.org or @statusplus.com. You can verify IUGA’s Staff here.
  6. Verify Links First: Genuine IUGA websites include www.iuga.orgwww.iugameeting.orgwww.academy.iuga.orgwww.iugastore.comwww.fiuga.orgwww.yourpelvicfloor.orgor links from our partner Status Plus www.statusplus.com. Always double-check before clicking on any links.
  7. Navigate on Secure Websites: A safe website can be recognized by the presence of a lock icon 🔒on the URL search bar. All our IUGA-owned channels have one.
  8. Check Grammar and Spelling: Many phishing emails contain grammatical errors or typos. Stay alert for such mistakes, as they may indicate a fraudulent message.
  9. Educate Yourself: Stay informed about the latest scamming/phishing techniques and share this knowledge with friends, family, and colleagues to help them stay safe, too.
