Tell us about where you currently live (city/country) and how you ended up in this location.

My wife, son, daughter and I live in Iowa City in the United States. We came here because we love our positions at the University of Iowa.

Tell us about your work - your job title, where you work, how long you've worked in the field, areas of focus or research, etc.

I am a Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director for the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa. I have been at the University of Iowa since 2010. In addition to a busy clinical practice and running our fellowship program, I enjoy research that focuses on pelvic organ prolapse surgery.

When and why did you decide to join IUGA?

I have been an IUGA member since 2016 when I was awarded one of the IUGA research grants. That grant resulted in the publication of an RCT comparing absorbable and permanent suture for uterosacral ligament suspension procedures.

What has been your most rewarding or memorable IUGA experience?

My most rewarding experience with IUGA was participating on the writing committee for one of the International Urogynecologic Consultation chapters.

What is the last book you read or movie you saw? Would you recommend it?

A recently finished the book A Waiter in Paris. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the Paris dining scene or just curious about the life of a waiter.

What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Travel, cooking and running.

What is one "fun fact" about you?

I hope to open a small hotel/B&B with my wife in Portugal or Spain when we retire.
