Urogynecologist during Surgery

IUGA offers educational Observership grants that are meant to offset costs of visiting an approved host site which has proven expertise for a specific specialty (selected by applicant). Recipients will spend 2 to 4 weeks at a host site, with the agreement that a formal report of the observer's experience will be submitted to the IUGA office at the completion of the observership grant. The reports will be posted here on the IUGA website.

Grant Application

The purpose of the IUGA-sponsored observership grants is to allow for increased dissemination of urogynecological knowledge by offering a stipend to an IUGA member to visit a renowned urogynecology center in a specific area of interest related to urogynecology.  A listing of these centers can be found by reviewing the Host Site Directory.  This grant allows for a unique opportunity to train in a specific area of interest related to urogynecology.

We are happy to announce that we are currently offering 3 observership grants in the following categories. You must specify which you are applying for in the application form.

All proposals must be submitted to by Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:59pm EDT.  Subject line should be: Observership Grant – your name.  No exceptions.

Please note that the 2017 observership grant submission cycle is now closed. Winners will be announced in early November 2017.

These grants are intended to defray travel and living expenses. No additional funding will be available through IUGA and any additional funding required must be obtained by the applicant, or applicant’s home institution.  The applicant will be responsible for all health care costs and/or any other costs above and beyond the awardee’s observership grant funds.  The applicant will receive the funding prior to starting the observership once all requirements are met.  For any questions in regards to applying for these grants please contact Amanda Stimart, the IUGA Manager of Education and Research Programs, at
