The Oscar Contreras Ortiz Award was first awarded in 2018 to honor the memory and legacy of Oscar Contreras Ortiz, co-founder of the International Urogynecology Journal and IUGA President from 1996-1998.
As with all IUGA activities, the success of the journal is dependent on the hard work of many individuals including the Editors in Chief, Editors, Editorial Board, and reviewers.

The IUGA Special Service Pin was developed to recognize IUGA members who provide exceptional services to the association or who are instrumental in promoting IUGA and IUGA events above and beyond expectations.
The IUGA Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2001 to recognize an IUGA member for his or her exceptional contributions - both to IUGA and to the field of urogynecology. This year’s recipient has certainly made his mark on both.
