Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Continence Foundation of Ireland, we have great pleasure in welcoming you all to Dublin in 2013 for this, the 38th Annual Meeting of the International Urogynaecological Association Conference in June 2013 in Dublin, Ireland. The CFI is a multidisciplinary organization of individuals, both clinicians and non-clinicians, from both North and Southern Ireland engaged in continence care. Our membership has overwhelmingly endorsed our bid.
Dublin is old and historic and which only last month was voted ‘Europe’s friendliest city’. It has had many years of welcoming international conferences, both large and small. As a city it offers the delegates and their accompanying persons a host of cultural and leisure activities, in addition to the opportunity to travel outside the capital and visit the many scenic beauty spots that Ireland as a whole can offer.
As Ireland lies at the gatepost between Europe and North America, and is served by over 100 airlines, we believe Dublin is the ideal venue for IUGA in 2013. As we say in Irish – ‘Céad mile fáilte’ – we look forward to welcoming you to Dublin.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Declan Keane Congress President
IrelandIreland has emerged as a leading international conference destination and has succeeded in combining the quality product demanded by discerning business visitors with a unique and memorable tourist experience. The scenery in all its variations and the friendliness inherent in the Irish people provide that unquestionable draw which optimises the desired delegate attendance.
DublinDublin is a bustling city with a population of over 1.7 million and is home to over 100 different nationalities all of who contribute to the fabric of Dublin. Though it has a genuine cosmopolitan feel, Dublin has still managed to retain its own distinct culture, which is expressed in a love of literature, drama and traditional music offering something for everyone to enjoy be it for business or pleasure. Access to DublinDublin airport provides excellent access through one of Europe’s busiest international airports. Located just 8 miles from Dublin city centre, it is served by over 100 airlines many of which are low fare airlines. There are excellent transport links to other regional airports. Transfer time from the airport to the centre of the capital will take approximately 20 minutes due to the recent opening of the Port Tunnel, which has significantly reduced travelling time.
Accommodation The city centre location of the conference venue ensures a rich choice of accommodation options to suit all preferences from budget to 5 star.
Social Programme From whiskey tasting to traditional music sessions, theatres or local restaurants, Dublin’s nightlife offers much variety for the IUGA delegate while magnificent and historic houses provide the perfect backdrop for the Conference Dinner and other private dining venues.
