The first German Post IUGA meeting took place on 22th September 2018 in Berlin.
More than 100 gynaecologists, urologists, physiotherapists and doctors in training attended our 3 hour IUGA synopsis meeting. Studies presented at IUGA as well as current discussions, e.g. on mesh implants, were summarised. We covered topics like stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, conservative pelvic floor therapy, recurrent urinary tract infections and childbirth related pelvic floor problems. One gynaecology registrar had attended the Fellows workshop and reported on their specific activities.
The meeting was rated very successful according to the evaluation sheets. We had managed to raise interest in urogynaecology as well as in IUGA and were asked to repeat the meeting in 2019 after Nashville. We plan to do this meeting after the IUGA annual meeting in Nashville on 2nd November 2019.
