Islamabad, Pakistan. This is my home country.

Tell us about your work - your job title, where you work, how long you've worked in the field, areas of focus or research, etc.

I am working at Fazaia Medical College as Head of Department-Obstetrics and Gynaecology,I am a clinician, researcher and public health expert. With a career spanning 30 years as an obstetrician I have dedicated my expertise to women’s health and research- with a specific focus on maternal psychosocial wellbeing. I am on the executive committee of South Asian Marce Association and worked as gender and equity expert at Gavi as an independent reviewer.

When and why did you decide to join IUGA?

I became a member of IUGA 2 years ago. I had heard about IUGA from my colleagues.

What has been your most rewarding or memorable IUGA experience?

I found the association to be academically robust and inclusive. I worked with the pelvic floor consortium in group 9 and enjoyed the discussions thoroughly.  

What is the last book you read or movie you saw? Would you recommend it?

Last movie was " Society of the Snow" -
Will definitely recommend this survival story. Also had read the book Alive on the same subject.

What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I am learning to play a musical instrument "sittar"
I like interior designing.

What is one "fun fact" about you?

My team members call me " multipotential" , and baked a cake for me with a woman with multiple hands! Thats because I can juggle between clinical, research and public health work.
